Simple Tags – a Wordpress Plugin you cannot miss!
When I started blogging I did not manage to keep things tidy – when blogging every tiny piece has to be organized. I learned that things do not stay still with a style sheet, but the way you blog. At the beginning I messed up with my “tags” with random words, such as, there were some tags called “photo” and “photos”. Obviously, they mean the same thing and you wanted to reach the posts on one page, but with different tag names they ended up separate (it also affects the look of your tag cloud and stops you from using one). In Wordpress there is no such function to “delete” or “rename” a tag like “category” does. So it seemed that the only way to edit the tags is to edit them in each post which is very time consuming.
Mass Edit Tags:
“Simple Tags” Plugin allows you to do most things on tags (rename, delete, merge, search, add tags, edit tags ID). Furthermore, you can manage the tags in posts which you have published in one goal! This way it will save you so much time than having to edit them in each post.
Auto Tags, Tags Suggestion:
Another feature of the plugin is “Auto tags”. When you write a post it will show tags you have added before (below the “Tags” input area), with this you will never (or rarely) get repeated tag names like “photo” and “photos”. You simply click on the tag you have added, or choose tags suggested by Yahoo Term Extractions API, Tag The Net and Local Tags with AJAX request.
Additional function- Related posts:
Since it does it in a smart way. It also offers a function to put a list of “Related posts” in your entries according to their tags. Just like the one below this post (alternatively, there are many similar plugins out there which do the same job)
So, Happy tagging! =]
