Work in Progress: “Psyche” inspired wallpaper
This is an idea which came entirely from the song “PSYCHE” by Zilch. At first I was a bit hesitated to start listening to Zilch since their music are classified by most as “Industrial Rock”. Anyway I took the first step and tried to listen to “Electric Cucumber” (of which there is an interesting story behind it). I think it was a bit weird! But by chance I took a look into the Zilch page on last.fm and found some really good comments about them, especially the song “PSYCHE” which is the still standing “Top Track” of their chart. This is how I started to get so into their album “3 2 1″ and got inspired.
To be honest I am still getting the idea of Industrial music. I wonder how “industrial” “PSYCHE” is? Or can I not ask it this way. After all “PSYCHE” is a song written by hide and this made me think even more about it. So as the other songs on “3 2 1″. Somehow hide’s unique style makes it difficult to classify its genre. I would say for most songs they are “Alternative Rock”.
Seriously, “PSYCHE” is a song you will fall into in seconds. If you are afraid of trying new-”noisy” music like Industrial Rock. This is a good song to start with. I will put up the track soon, hopefully, with the release of the wallpaper. However if you are desperate to listen to it now there is a 30-second section of the song on its last.fm page (auto-start enable) which you can try. Personally, I do not recommend you to do so because the “beginning” of the song is the part that you will fall into and yet the track on last.fm is trimmed from the middle.

So you finally started to listen to Zilch properly. PSYCHE is my favourite Zilch song, and like you said above, the first few seconds are what draw you into it, as soon as he sings the word PSYCHE I got instantly drawn into it. I also like the mixed version Repsychle, it’s quite different, but there is an awesome instrumental part towards the middle of the song :D

Yes!! I am really listening to it “properly” now.. haha.. in fact, in am in love with it!! Can’t stop listening!
I wish hide is still here doing his Zilch project… there would be more good songs =(

Can you imagine if he was still here? Especially for X Japan’s reunion? That would probably be the most explosive event in Japanese Music History! :D

as for X JAPAN, YOSHIKI said the new song IV has hide’s unreleased track in it. however, i really doubt how much hide has involved in it……(as in.. which is his guitar track??)

I know which part it is, because it’s an instrumental part in the song. And also if you have seen the PV where they are on the roof, it’s the part where the instrumental starts (really deep and loud) and the camera pans to hide’s footage on the big screen.

yea, i guess it is gonna hv to be that part… but its very short tho..=(, its just a few seconds…
also, yea.i think its the part Sugizo played on the 28.03.2008 concert (i also think they hv added new lines in the live version tho..could u hear anything different somehow?)
anyway..i m glad tht Yoshiki put tht in =)

Yeah I agree that the live with Sugizo seemed longer and more powerful, I guess when you got Sugizo playing WITH hide’s unreleased track it does sound more powerful, but it definitely seemed longer.
I guess it’s a bit like their 1993 2 day live at Tokyo Dome, 30th december live performance of Art of Life spanned 45 mins, thats 10 mins LONGER than the usual 35 mins (30 mins for non live version).
Also, an odd thing, was looking up their 3 day live in March of this year on Youtube yesterday… it’s all been removed? I can’t find a single song on there anymore :/

me too! i couldnt find any vids of the 3-day concert on youtube.. ooops .. i think they had been removed.. =(
i remember it also happened to some of L’arc~en~ciel’s video..which had been removed my their label (copyright issue) some youtube users’ account were blocked by uploading vids like tht too..
and i hv to say.. ART of LIFE on 30.12.1993 was quite a mess…haha.. btu yea.. i didnt realize its 10 minutes tho (I think was becoz Yoshiki was spending too long on the piano solo…..)
